Position Description

This is a new job opportunity to work between two labs across research programs at the intersection of Cell Biology and Genetics. Using single cell screening, CRISPR/Cas technology, the technologist will develop and apply novel unbiased single-cell screens to uncover important pathways that regulate tumor-immune cell interactions. They will learn and apply additional -omics approaches including for lipidomic.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:



Responsibilities:



Performs routine physical, chemical and biological lab procedures. Duties may include preparing media, solutions, reagents, sections and slides, doing routine assays following prescribed methods. Responsible for accuracy of technique. Major methodolical development and innovation involved, including multiomic approaches combined with imaging-based screens.

Job Knowledge:



Applies straightforward technical knowledge and skills to perform well-defined tests. Computationally-inclined, with interest in AI-approaches.

Problem Solving:



Responsible for accuracy of techniques, using established policies and procedures, to resolve routine problems.

Self Management:



Works under direct supervision, likely of a post-doctoral fellow. Follows specific, detailed instructions. Work is regularly checked with detailed review upon completion.

Leadership:



Leads self and demonstrates a willingness to learn.

Communication:



Interacts primarily with immediate supervisor and other technicians within the laboratory.
Demonstrates competency written and verbal communications

Post secondary education in Life Sciences/Biology (e.g., BSc) Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
