Assistant Purchasing Manager

The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of materials, supplies and services to be used by the organization. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, employee handbook guidelines, health and safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.

Job Details:

  • Full-time, day shift, Monday-Friday (8:00 A.M.- 5:00P.M.) Overtime required based on business need.

Education and Qualification:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business or a related discipline.
  • mid-point in any related theory program - PMAC, CAPIC
  • 7 to 10 years' experience in progressive purchasing responsibilities required.
  • Experience with a plastic injection and the tooling industry
  • Demonstrated proficiency with an ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite required.
Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to manage supplier relations and reconcile user department needs to corporate goals.
  • Ability to issue purchase order
  • Strong writing skills for creating reports, correspondence, contracts, requests, bids, and other documentation
  • Knowledge of the appropriate tools for grading, analyzing, and other assessing materials, equipment, supplies, services and other commodities.
  • Capable of forecasting and solving problem
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor
  • Willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction when required.
  • Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner
