Property Manager Assistant

to join our growing team.

Position Overview



The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of managing a portfolio of properties. including tenant placement, tenant relations, property maintenance, and all-encompassing property management as well as general office and administrative support.

This role involves administrative duties, tenant and vendor communication, coordination of maintenance requests, and assisting with leasing and inspection tasks. The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities



Respond to tenant inquiries and coordinate maintenance requests promptly and professionally

Schedule and follow up on repairs, inspections, and service appointments with contractors and vendors

Assist with leasing processes, including preparing lease documents, conducting showings, and screening applicants as needed.

Maintain accurate records of tenant files, work orders, lease agreements, and correspondence

Support rent collection efforts and help monitor accounts receivable

Assist in preparing notices, communications, and reports for tenants and property owners

Perform site visits and property inspections as needed

Provide administrative support to Property Managers and other team members

Qualifications



Previous experience in property management, real estate, or administrative roles preferred

RTDRS experience is an asset.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and property management software (e.g., Yardi or similar)

Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of Alberta tenancy laws is an asset

Working Conditions



Based in Edmonton with travel to local properties Primarily office-based with some on-site responsibilities Valid driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle. Employees are required to use their own vehicle to travel between project sites and offices
Evening and weekend availability to support ad hoc issues or incidents that may arise at properties outside of working hours is required.

As this is a growth position, responsibilities will evolve as the successful candidate gains experience.

Requirements



Preferrable experience with residential property management and administration

Flexible schedule to suit the day to day needs of the role

Good communication skills and ability to 'problem solve'

Critical thinking, good judgement and decision making skills

Client service oriented

Quality oriented with high attention to detail

Experience with basic maintenance including trade relations

Ability to multitask

Collaborative and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment

Understanding of legislation such as Residential Tenancies Act, Real Estate Act and other applicable standards or the willingness to learn

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
