The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Respirology at Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital (WCH) are seeking to recruit an Academic Respirologist committed to a career in academic respirology as a Clinician Investigator or Clinician Scientist. The successful candidate must either already hold or be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is July 1, 2023, or a mutually agreeable date.
The ideal candidate will have advanced research training and will dedicate 50-75% of their time dedicated to research depending on their research stream. They will be committed to the advancement of a clinical research Airways Disease Program at Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital The remainder of their time will include participation in patient care, and clinical teaching and supervision in the areas of general respirology and airways disease.
Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital is the first independent, fully ambulatory hospital in Ontario and is a University of Toronto fully affiliated teaching hospital. The Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital respirology group is a dedicated group of clinicians managing a broad range of respiratory illnesses in an ambulatory setting. The division has a fully functional pulmonary function lab. The ideal candidate will have academic aspirations that are aligned with the mission, vision, and values of WCH. Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital is committed to advancing and advocating for the health care options for all by researching, evaluating, teaching, disseminating, and delivering new treatments and models of system-integrated care. Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Hospital is the home of the University of Toronto Centre for Ambulatory Care Education (CACE), WCH Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV) and Women\xe2\x80\x99s College Research Institute (WCRI).
The successful candidate must have graduate research degree training or equivalent and have demonstrated ability for independent research with demonstrated excellence and productivity. Applicants must be eligible for a licensure in the province of Ontario.
Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Remuneration will be based on the candidate\'s specific criteria, including experience, skills, education, and training.
