Your role
The Assistant Production Administrator works within the Olympic Resources Group, which is responsible for the logistical preparations of the CBC/Radio-Canada's team producing the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Although the incumbent will not travel to the Games, she or he will work on matters related to travel logistics and financial analysis for the Olympic Resources Group. This position involves interaction with staff across various departments and networks within the Corporation to fulfill responsibilities. The incumbent will play a key role in producing financial analyses and reports, supporting monthly closing reports, managing budgets and forecasts, and handling payroll and contracts for sports productions.
Responsibilities:Monitor actual costs versus authorized levels and budgets, and track commitments in collaboration with production administrators and production unit heads. Monitor and authorize production-related expenses. Develop monthly forecasts and calculate year-end financial projections based on current expenditures. Advise show producers on expense matters related to show budgets and provide cost-efficiency recommendations. Participate in coordinating travel for the Sports production team, authorize expense claims, and ensure compliance with travel policies and show requirements. Anticipate departmental staffing needs and support office and production staff with related administration. Liaise with Human Resources and collaborate with them to support and inform staff regarding changes (collective agreements, benefits, etc.). Participate in staffing decisions, especially regarding budget, and help determine appropriate contractual status for employees. Work with the production administrator to prepare initiatives related to restructuring and efficiency, and conduct relevant research. Conduct research for management on additional compensation, contracts, leaves and absences, and any employee-related issues, and provide guidance accordingly. Implement staffing changes using HR transaction forms (e.g., VIP hiring module). Prepare employee contracts. Review and approve timesheets according to collective agreements when required. Review contracts and authorize payments to freelancers. Prepare hiring documentation for temporary employees, involving frequent contact with local Finance/HR departments regarding associated payments. Advise production staff on interpreting and applying CBC/Radio-Canada policies on Finance, HR, and Business Affairs, as well as collective agreements. Propose, implement, and maintain operational processes related to the above activities.

Your profile:University degree or college diploma Professional accounting designation (or in progress): CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA is an asset Two (2) years of relevant experience Ability to use financial systems (general ledger, resource planning) Knowledge of budgeting and contractual procedures for freelancers Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word) Experience with SAP and LIVELINK is considered is an asset Bilingualism is an asset Practical knowledge of collective agreements is an asset Familiarity with CBC/Radio-Canada television production and programming Strong interest in sports Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and manage multiple priorities Ability to work independently and on a flexible schedule when required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Sound judgment and initiative Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals
