We are the Michelin Retread franchisee for Ontario with two state of the art Michelin retreading plants in Ingersoll and at our head office in Brampton.
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Plant Manager to join our tire retreading facility team. The Assistant Plant Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Plant Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the retreading process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing and coordinating the tire retreading process, from inspection to final finishing
Support the implementation of production schedules to meet customer demands
Monitor inventory levels of retread materials and finished products
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Supervise and provide guidance to plant staff, assisting in training and performance management
Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure proper functioning of retreading equipment
Assist in implementing quality control measures to achieve high standards of retreaded tire quality
Contribute to the analysis of production data and recommend process improvements
Support collaboration with sales and logistics teams to meet customer delivery requirements
Step in for the Plant Manager in their absence and assist with managerial responsibilities
Requirements:
Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a tire retreading facility
Knowledge of tire retreading processes and industry standards
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics for retreading equipment
Proficiency in using production management software
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to safety regulations
Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with environmental and sustainability practices in tire retreading
Certification in tire retreading or related field
Understanding of logistics and supply chain management in the tire industry
