Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for, and involved in, the following:
Work with the Production Manager to plan and evaluate daily production to maximize productivity.
Participate in team member relations, including disciplinary actions in conjunction with department heads.
Provide consultation on employee relations matters.
Assist with adhering to and enforcing Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Provide input and advice on major projects affecting the plant and business.
Assist in organizing and coordinating plant maintenance work.
Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems.
Ensure all products meet required specifications.
Assist with the hiring of plant personnel as needed.
Participate in procurement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5 years managing departments (preferred).
Experience as an assistant manager/manager in food processing.
3-5 years in food manufacturing (preferred).
Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, BRC, and CFIA regulations (3-5 years preferred).
Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email).
Education
High School diploma with some post-secondary education.
Training or certification in Food Safety, Food Technology, or equivalent (preferred).
