Assistant Manager - Jam's Burgers & Shakes (Halifax, NS)
Jam's Burgers & Shakes is seeking an energetic

Assistant Manager

to join our leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager, this role helps oversee both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. You'll keep service, food quality, and cleanliness at the highest standard while motivating a fun, fast-paced team. From managing shifts and supporting staff development to resolving issues in the moment, you'll help foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and great guest experiences.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities



Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and service coordination. Lead shifts to ensure smooth service flow, operational excellence, and a positive guest experience. Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety. Manage inventory levels, place supply orders, and build positive vendor relationships while controlling costs. Train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and uphold brand standards. Engage with customers, responding to inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and licensing regulations. Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient operational procedures. Support marketing and promotional initiatives to increase customer traffic and sales. Assist in analyzing financial results and identifying opportunities for improvement. Foster a positive, collaborative team culture that promotes respect, open communication, and professional growth.

Qualifications



1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in the restaurant, food service, or hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including service standards, food safety, and sanitation regulations. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and support a diverse team. Passion for customer service and creating positive guest experiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, customers, and vendors. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and make sound decisions under pressure. Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications; experience with restaurant management software is an asset. Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain). Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
