We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations at Namaste Bistro Sackville. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of customer service management and high end restaurant management. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, serving tables, and supporting sales initiatives to drive restaurant success.
The Assistant Manager will play a vital role in maintaining a positive dining environment and achieving business goals through effective team management and operational oversight. *Must have fully open weekday (Tues-Thur 12pm-10pm) & weekend (Fri-Sun 11am-10pm) availability. No Exceptions.
Responsibilities
Assist Management in supervising daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service, fostering a welcoming dining experience.
Serving tables as needed and upholding company etiquette standards while on the floor.
Manage POS systems, cash handling procedures, and ensure accurate bookkeeping and inventory control.
Coordinate training and development programs for team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor sales performance metrics and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
Support budgeting processes and assist in purchasing decisions to optimize inventory levels.
Qualifications
Proven experience in retail or restaurant management or supervisory roles with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
At least two full years of experience with restaurant service and the restaurant industry.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills.
Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and develop team members; supervisory experience is preferred.
Skilled in negotiation, customer service excellence, time management, and phone etiquette.
