We are seeking a highly motivated, leadership driven individual for the position of Assistant Head Nurse (AHN). As the AHN at Step Up Step Down (SUSD), you will be responsible for being a role model, clinical resource, and advocate for your entire team. The AHN has an expert understanding and knowledge of addiction and mental health programming, strong collaborative skills, and the ability to liaise with other internal, allied, contracted, and community stakeholders to facilitate timely care to individuals and families within the SUSD program. The AHN is responsible for planning, creating, and implementing site development projects in the realm of clinical care, safety planning and supporting staff/program development with the guidance of the manager. You will be responsible for optimal client flow and frontline nursing care as required. You will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality client care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your advanced critical thinking skills, judgement, and clinical experience will assist in collaborations for complex mental health and addiction issues at all levels. You will collaborate with clients, interdisciplinary team members, families/caregivers, community agencies and secondary treatment teams to create goals and treatment planning. You will provide a key role in the coaching and mentoring of staff to maintain a strong team that is engaged and feels valued.
