Your Opportunity:Chinook House is an admission/mood and thought disorder unit at CCMHBI. The AHN role for Chinook House offers a chance to grow both your clinical and leadership skills. In close collaboration with the Unit Manager, psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team, your role will involve patient care, communication with families and the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring that quality, patient centered care is being provided. A passion for seniors and their complex needs is essential. Strong medical and psychiatric assessment skills, critical thinking, and adaptability are crucial. Reporting to the Unit Manager the Assistant Head Nurse coordinates the interdisciplinary patient care process in accordance with the objectives and standards of the Seniors Mental Health Program. While the Assistant Head Nurse meets the position and responsibilities of the RN/RPN, it largely provides clinical leadership to interdisciplinary team members in providing patient and family centered care, including mentorship and leadership while forming strong relationships with colleagues, patients and their families. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
