We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fitness Manager to oversee the daily operations of our fitness facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail and fitness management. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, and ensuring an outstanding experience for our members. The Fitness Manager will play a key role in driving membership growth, maintaining facility standards, and fostering a motivating environment for both staff and clients.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise fitness staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the facility's services and programs
Manage sales activities, including retail sales, membership sales, and upselling services
Oversee store management functions such as merchandising, pricing, and inventory purchasing
Handle customer service inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure member satisfaction
Manage payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations
Coordinate training & development programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
Conduct interviews for prospective employees and participate in team recruitment efforts
Maintain POS systems and oversee cashiering activities with accuracy and professionalism
Implement promotional campaigns using effective communication skills and marketing techniques
Monitor sales management metrics to meet or exceed performance targets
Ensure compliance with safety standards and uphold cleanliness and organization within the facility
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience in retail or fitness management roles
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities
Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are preferred to serve diverse clientele
Experience in recruiting, training & development, payroll processing, and budgeting
Proficiency with POS systems, merchandising tools, cash handling, and store management software
Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Administrative experience with bookkeeping or financial recordkeeping is advantageous
Strong math skills for pricing strategies and sales analysis
