Job Description

The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager/Owner to oversee all aspects of daily pub operations. This role blends hands-on leadership with strategic support, helping manage staff, streamline systems, and drive the success of our front-of-house and overall guest experience.

You'll be a key part of the management team, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations while contributing to the long-term success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate, and support the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding guest experiences Manage and oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, service standards, and floor management Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members Support the scheduling, payroll, and inventory management processes Oversee cash handling, POS systems, and reconciliation Work collaboratively with the General Manager/Owner on budgets, cost control, and performance targets Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, warmth, and discretion Support marketing and promotional activities, including social media engagement and event coordination Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture Step in as acting manager in the General Manager's absence

Who You Are

3-5 years of progressive management experience in hospitality or restaurant management Strong organizational, administrative, and leadership skills Skilled at building positive team dynamics and resolving conflicts constructively Confident managing budgets, labor, inventory, and operational systems Tech-savvy, with experience using POS, scheduling, and inventory platforms Social media-literate and comfortable assisting with online engagement and promotions Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities Passionate about hospitality, teamwork, and creating memorable guest experiences
