We are a kick ass dive bar located in West Edmonton Mall and are looking for a rock star to add to our Front of House Senior Management team in the position of Assistant General Manager.

Our company originated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and currently has three concepts, four stores that operate in and around the Edmonton area. Our Five & Dive concept is a laid back, trendy, throwback to traditional dive bars but with a significant focus to higher quality food, drinks and service standards. We focus on fresh, quality food and drink selections and use high-quality ingredients in all our offerings.

Position:

Assistant General Manager

Description:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be vital to the operation of the Front of House business and directly report to the General Manager (GM). It will be incumbent of the AGM to foster an environment where creativity, individuality, guest service, our brand standards, and a love for rock & roll thrive. Guest service should be your #1 priority with every decision you make! The successful candidate will work with our GM to create a unique entertainment environment that will require constant focus on talent development, coaching, mentoring, and using previous, hospitality-driven, management experience to help fulfill the roles and responsibilities outlined in the job description. The AGM will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, run shifts, coaching team members, following all brand policies, procedures and guidelines and ensuring all decisions are made to create a profitable business. You will also be directly responsible for the bar, our bar team, inventory, liquor ordering, and anything associated with our bar.

Essential Functions

Supervise the operation of the front of house including the dining sections and bar, to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to all brand operational policies, procedures, and guidelines. Recruit, interview, and hire team members; supervise, take escalating disciplinary action, motive, and train. Conduct and help with training of new team members. Develop team members by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and by conducting performance reviews. Manage shifts which include daily decision making, managing the schedule, planning while upholding brand standards, policies and procedures and cleanliness. Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labor, ordering product and supplies, and coaching and developing the Five & Dive team. Ensure compliance of Occupational and Safety Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy. Control Profit & Loss by following cash control procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing sales projections, and taking appropriate action. Troubleshoot and smooth issues relating to the successful execution of events. Ensure a safe environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Complete accident reports / incident reports promptly in the event a guest or team member is injured. Hold everyone on the team accountable to the business!

Position Requirements:



Excellent leadership and people management skills Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior level hospitality position Post Secondary education in hospitality or related work experience Previous experience opening multiple restaurants. Proven track record of building a successful team through networking, recruiting, training, developing and assessing talent. Proven ability to increase sales and profitability. Highly motivated to work independently and without direct supervision. Proactive, well organized, and forward thinking Exceptionally good with social media Have a passion for quality food and service. Must have exceptional communication skills. Have experience operating and making weekly payroll submissions. Have experience and knowledge of local labour laws. Knowledge and background in Food Safety All applicable government certifications Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly self sufficient and capable of making quick and well thought out decisions. Must have own transportation. Be able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours. Be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be passionate about rock & roll.
