We are an exciting brand located in the West Edmonton Mall shopping center in Edmonton, Alberta and we have an opening on our senior management team, and we are looking for an Assistant General Manager.

Our company originated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and currently have two stores within the company. We focus on fresh, quality food using only high-quality food ingredients. We are looking to have the success candidate spend 3-4 weeks working with our FOH management team and be ready to take on their new position, in role, by November 2025.

Position:

Assistant General Manager

Description:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be vital to the operation of the FOH business and directly report to the General Manager (GM). It will be incumbent that the AGM fosters an environment where creativity, guest service, event sales, and sports are all able to thrive. Guest service will be the #1 priority with every decision you make! You must be accountable to the business! The AGM will work directly with the GM to create a unique entertainment environment that will require constant focus on food quality, guest experience, developing talent, and excellence in the management role, using your previous experience on your shift in day-to-day operations. The AGM will be responsible for running shifts, coaching team members, ordering, following all brand policies, procedures and guidelines and ensuring a profitable business, to name several areas of importance / focus.

Essential Functions

Supervise the operation of the FOH including the dining sections and bar, to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to all brand operational policies, procedures, and guidelines. Recruit, interview, and hire team members; supervise, take escalating disciplinary action, motive, and train. Conduct and help with training of new team members. Develop team members by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and by conducting performance reviews. Manage shifts which include daily decision making, managing the schedule, planning while upholding brand standards, policies and procedures and cleanliness. Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labor, ordering product and supplies, and coaching and developing the 1st RND team. Ensure a safe environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Complete accident reports / incident reports promptly in the event a guest or team member is injured. Control Profit & Loss by following cash control procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing sales projections, and taking appropriate action. Troubleshoot and smooth issues relating to the successful execution of events.

Position Requirements:



Excellent leadership and people management skills Minimum 3+ years experience in a senior level hospitality position Post Secondary education in hospitality or related work experience Previous experience running similar restaurant concept(s). Proven track record of building a successful team through networking, recruiting, training, and developing talent. Proven ability to increase sales and profitability. Highly motivated to work independently and without direct supervision. Proactive, well organized, and forward thinking. Exceptionally good with social media. Have a passion for quality food and service. Must have exceptional communication skills. Have experience operating and managing payroll solutions. Have experience and knowledge of local labour laws. Knowledge and background in Food Safety. Being AHS Food certified is a bonus. Pro-Serve certified. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly self sufficient and capable of making quick and well thought out decisions. Must have own transportation. Be able to stand on your feet for 8+ hours. Be able to work evenings, weekends, and Statutory Holidays Be able to lift 20 lbs. Must be passionate about sports.
