We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Front Office Manager to support our team at Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour. This role is crucial in assisting with the smooth operation of our front desk, valet, concierge, and reservation teams, with the goal of enhancing guest experiences. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality are essential. The Assistant Front Office Manager will engage in hands-on duties and direct guest interactions, and will maintain a significant presence in the lobby area to support daily operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Front Office Manager duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist Front Office Manager in all administrative tasks as assigned.
Oversee all aspects of guest services, including check-in, check-out, reservations, and inquiries.
Support the team by performing and overseeing various Guest Services, Front Desk, Night Audit, Valet, Bell duties as required, and ensuring lobby presence during peak volume.
Ensure efficient handling of all guest needs and requests to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain guest service standards to exceed guest expectations.
Coordinate with other departments such as Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Coach and lead Guest Services team to maintain Marriott Brand standards.
Conduct regular training/coaching sessions to enhance team knowledge and performance.
Participating in interviewing, recruiting and selection of new team members
Assist with ordering and inventory for the Gift Shop.
Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
Manage inventory in MARSHA, PMS & complete daily reports.
Manage CC authorization forms and set up CC authorization forms.
Monitor room rates, occupancy levels, and RevPAR to maximize profitability.
Implement cost-control measures without compromising guest service quality.
Utilize property management systems (PMS) and other technology tools to manage reservations, guest profiles, and room assignments.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in hospitality technology to streamline operations.
Build rapport with guests and BONVOY members and facilitate special requests with personalized attention.
Maintain clear and effective communication channels with all hotel departments.
Implement and enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain safety and security standards.
Others duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a front office role within the hotel industry.
Experience with Marriott or Hotel Brand is a strong asset.
Diploma or BA in hospitality or a related field is an asset.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Highly organized, career and result oriented with the ability to be flexible with work hours including night shifts days off, assignments and additional duties.
Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
A valid class 5 driver's license and a clear ICBC driver's abstract.
A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and to lift up to 50lbs.
