The Assistant Front Office Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and guest services at our hotel. This position requires a dedicated individual who can effectively manage daily front office activities, provide exceptional customer service, and support the Front Office Manager in maintaining high standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Front Office Manager in overseeing daily operations of the front desk, guest services, transportation, reservations, and security.
Supervise, train, and support front office staff to ensure consistent, high-quality guest service.
Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to maximize guest satisfaction.
Monitor and manage room inventory, arrivals, and departures to optimize efficiency.
Act as Manager on Duty when required.
Partner with hotel security to respond to disturbances, medical emergencies, and safety-related issues throughout the property.
Perform other operational duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years of Canadian full-service hotel front office experience (airport hotel experience preferred).
Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in front office operations.
Strong knowledge of PMS systems (Opera or similar) and hotel reservation processes.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.
Strong ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Experience in unionized work environments preferred.
