The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager - works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and assists in the day-to-day operations of the Banquet and Restaurant Operations to ensure quality service is provided to all customers while achieving revenue targets, leading the team and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for both employees and customers and guests.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensures quality service exceeds customer expectations by overseeing the staffing, training and day to day activities of dinner theatre operations associates
Coach, direct, supervise and develop the team members in our Food & Beverage departments.
Program and maintain XN-POS point of sale system
Ensure superior cleanliness and quality in all food and beverage departments
Monitor presentation of food product; review areas of concern with Executive Chef
Addresses and follows up as necessary to all customer concerns in a timely basis
Maintain effective and positive employee relations by participating in regular team meetings focusing on the goals of the hotel
Assist in the recruitment and training for all team members to ensure a high standard of service
Ensure that all employees have obtained legislated training (Proserve)
Responsible for department payroll functions in the absence of the F&B Manager
Train associates in fire procedures and health and safety awareness and Covid-19 protocols and ensure all employees are completely familiarized with all Emergency procedures
Keep Manager fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
Other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Previous Food & Beverage experience in a hotel is required.
Sound knowledge of food and beverage operation and products
Outstanding customer service skills
Excellent communication, leadership and team building and interpersonal skills are essential
Ability to manage a large team of associates
Knowledge and experience with Micros system and programing a strong asset
Able to work evenings and weekends
Proven track record in revenue growth, promotions and training.
Previous budget and forecasting experience.
Organized, detail-oriented and able to take initiative
ProServe certification.
Heavy lifting up to 50lbs is required
Experience, Training and Education
Diploma in Restaurant / Hotel Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 2-3 years Food and Beverage experience within a hotel
ProServe certification
Standard First Aid and CPR certification is required; if not currently certified - training will be provided
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a manager in a high volume food and beverage operation
Previous Banquet experience a definite asset
Working Conditions:
When working in the Food & Beverage departments - bending, twisting and reaching movements are common as are long periods working in the same position. On the operational floor, the work involves standing, walking, bending and lifting.
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Evening, weekend and holiday working hours are required
