Onsite Residence Required Mid-June - August (Canterbury Hills Camp)

Salary:

~$20,000 annually (includes summer contract + part-time year-round work)

About Canterbury Hills Camp:


Canterbury Hills Camp is a values centered summer camp fostering spiritual growth, inclusivity, and joyful community for children and youth. We are looking for a dynamic Assistant Director to join our leadership team and help guide programs, staff, and campers in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

Role Overview:

This year-round, part-time position includes hands on summer program oversight, staff mentorship, and strategic planning alongside the Camp Director. You'll gain leadership experience in youth development, program management, and nonprofit administration.

Key Responsibilities:



Support the Camp Director with strategic planning and program development Supervise, mentor, and train seasonal staff Oversee summer camp operations, program delivery, and camper experience Maintain communication with families and respond to inquiries or feedback Assist with marketing, outreach, and community engagement Ensure compliance with camp policies, health, and safety standards

Who We're Looking For:



Strong leadership, organizational, and collaborative skills Experience working with children and youth Commitment to inclusion, spiritual growth, and camp values Ability to supervise staff, mediate conflicts, and foster community Must obtain Standard First Aid & CPR-C by June 30, 2026 Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required

Schedule:



Jan-Apr & Sept-Dec: ~8-9 hrs/week (remote/onsite) Mid-Apr-Mid-Jun: Full-time onsite prep Mid-Jun-Aug: Full-time onsite with mandatory residence
