Safeway Canmore is seeking a motivated, passionate assistant department manager for our Deli HMR operations. This person would support the deli manager in day to day strategy and implementation of business plans, promotions, and priorities of the department. It is important for this individual to exemplify our Company Values; be driven and have a strong sense of urgency; and exemplify honesty, integrity, teamwork and respect in all matters. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of related experience in a fast-food or kitchen production environment including 1-2 years of such in a leadership capacity. This individual will be responsible in the relief or absence of the department manager, oversee the entire operations in his/her substitute including aspects such as profit, loss, shrink, inventory management, ordering product, rotating, date checking, and upholding departmental hygiene and sanitation. Overview
The Assistant Deli Department Manager supports and assists the Deli Manager in the efficient and fiscally responsible operation of the department. In absence of the Department Manager, the Assistant Manager will supervise, coach, motivate and train staff to achieve the highest level of customer service, adherence to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, corporate policies and Health and Safety, and other programs and initiatives.
The Assistant Department Manager will foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
