The Ministry of the Attorney General, Criminal Law Division, is offering a challenging opportunity for two (2) experienced lawyers to join the team as Assistant Crown Attorneys under the Bail Initiative at the Toronto Region Bail Centre, located at 2201 Finch Avenue West, Toronto. In this role, you will represent the Crown in bail hearings and related proceedings, review bail briefs, and take a position on judicial interim release. The successful candidates will report directly to the Director of Crown Operations.

Representing the Crown in bail hearings and ensuring legal arguments are presented effectively
Collaborating with the police on the preparation of bail materials
Providing bail positions on new arrest in alignment with legal and policy guidelines
Determining appropriate resolutions in cases where applicable, ensuring fair and just outcomes.

Experience in and readiness to conduct prosecutions and bail hearings in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice
