is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller. We are looking for applicants that are well organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, team players with a passion for success.

Auto dealership Assistant Controller supports the Controller, managing accounting, payroll, and reporting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dealership policies and accounting standards.

Accounting Operations:

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with dealership processes and policies.

Payroll and Tax:

Oversee payroll processing and prepare tax reports and returns.

Cash Management:

Maintain an effective cash management system, forecasting cash flow and making recommendations for profitable use of excess cash.

Internal Controls:

Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting best practices.

Audits:

Assist with internal and external audits.

Reporting and Analysis:

Provide detailed financial and management reports to department managers and management.

Staff Support:

Provide leadership, training, and development to finance and accounting staff.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist with budget and forecasting processes.

Responsibilities:



Provide support to the Controller in properly managing accounting, payroll and reporting functions of the dealership. Oversee full accounting and payroll cycle processes. Analyze, reconcile accounts for the monthly and annual closing; identify and correct accounting and payroll inaccuracies and imbalances. Reconcile and submit all government, warranty and insurance remittances.

Qualifications:



Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting and payroll experience within a retail automotive dealership with a thorough knowledge of accounting and payroll practices & procedures. University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting/Finance/Payroll an asset. Solid working knowledge of CDK. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with ADP Workforce. Excellent organizational, prioritization and analytical skills. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a positive attitude and ability to multitask.
