Assistant Controller
to join our team.
Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controlleris responsible for performing and maintaining all aspects of the accounting cycle--including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance--while assisting in the preparation of financial statements and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. As well as other administrative tasks related to company operations and payroll.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
Manage the full AP and AR cycles: process invoices, payments, deposits, and collections.
Maintain and update supplier and customer profiles.
Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations (bank, credit card, inter-company, and general ledger accounts).
Assist with payroll journal entries and ensure accurate allocation of costs.
Ensure proper documentation, filing, and archiving of accounting records.
Financial Management & Reporting
Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
Contribute to annual audit preparation
Assist with financial analyses such as cash flow tracking, cost analysis, and margin evaluations.
Prepare and submit government remittances (e.g., sales taxes).
Support the budgeting process by gathering data and providing variance analysis.
Performance Management
Develop and monitor KPIs to support management in evaluating business performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Position Requirements:
Solid understanding of the complete accounting cycle and financial statement preparation.
DEC, AEC, or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
3-8 years of relevant experience in general accounting, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced knowledge of Excel is required; experience with SAP Business One is an asset.
Proactive and able to work well in a team setting.
Fully bilingual (French and English) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a resourceful and solution-oriented mindset.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
