We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and assisting with budget management. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software.
Responsibilities
Daily Deposit Reconciliations
Monthly Trust Bank Reconciliations
Monthly Trust liabilities and Transfer clearance report
Monthly sales commission reports.
Revenue recognition for the group of companies
Monthly portfolio reconciliation and amortization reports for CAD and US companies.
Monthly- Inter-company reconciliations
Assist with Monthly Financial statements, Budgets and Forecasts.
Perform portfolio collections and cost analysis.
Create reports for external auditors and government agencies.
Mentor junior team members.
Assist with Daily Banking and AP transactions.
Create reports for external auditors and government agencies.

Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Collaborate with the Controller to develop and manage budgets, providing insights on variances and financial performance.
Prepare reports for management to facilitate informed decision-making.
Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on account analysis, budgeting, and reconciliation.
Familiarity with accounting software (Sage 300) is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
