Brief Description:
Our employer is a manufacturer of a wide range of armoured vehicles. They are looking for an individual to oversee core accounting functions, including general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and month-end close. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, as well as in streamlining processes and supporting the company's growth initiatives.
Job Function:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing activities
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Support the Controller in managing audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company accounting policies
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Working experience in the automotive industry would be an asset.
• Basic knowledge of industrial or manufacturing engineering.
