We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to support our financial operations during an exciting phase of growth which includes the implementation of a new ERP system. This is a temporary position expected to be 9 to 12 months in duration , with potential for extension of the assignment.
In this role you will assist in overseeing financial operations, accounting processes, and reporting. Experience with ERP systems and understanding their impact on financial data flow is an asset.
Highlights of job duties include:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ensure proper recording and reconciliation of financial transactions
Assist in managing and supporting Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Support budget preparation and financial forecasting
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management
Assist in the integration of financial data into the new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central)
Other duties as required to support the finance department
Here's what we're seeking in the successful candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation or progress towards certification
Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience or familiarity with ERP implementation and/or systems integration. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is an asset.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Minimum of 4 years' related experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional interpersonal skills
A positive and team-oriented approach to work. Dependable and trustworthy.
Ability to prioritize, manage time, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work well under pressure.
Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently
