We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role offers an opportunity to support the company's financial operations, ensure accurate accounting practices, and contribute to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, proficiency with various accounting software, and excellent analytical skills. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting overall business growth.

Duties



Assist in managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards Perform account reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and insights Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other platforms to maintain accurate financial records Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance Support the implementation and improvement of internal controls within the finance department

Technical Tasks


Participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes, including the preparation of audit files and financial statements;

Analyse period-end results: journal entries and account reconciliations;

Analyze budget variances and explain deviations;

Prepare monthly forecast review and update excel files & corporate tools;

Provide support to the Finance leadership team in developing solutions (reports, performance indicators, controls);

Support managers in their business strategies (e.g. budget coordination, financial presentation);

Coach the financial analysts in calculating product cost prices and analyzing direct and indirect costs.

Management Tasks



Supervise accounting transactions made by the accounting personnel; Coordinate the activities of the accounting technician, other than receivables. Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably with experience as an Assistant Controller or similar position Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant platforms Strong understanding of accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budgeting, and account reconciliation processes Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards is preferred

Bachelor's degree in administration;

Specialization:

Finance or Accounting;

Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of Excel;

Experience:

Ideally 5 years;

Asset:

Hold a CPA title, SAP knowledge;

Languages:

French and English (written and spoken). Functional English is required due to various multidisciplinary tasks including notably communications and financial reports with the corporate and sister companies in the Kontron group;

Other:

Travel between the Boisbriand and Cornwall sites one to two days per week. Partial work from home is also possible.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
