Overview of Position:



JOB LOCATION: BEAUSEJOUR, MB




We are looking for a skilled individual to fill the role of Assistant Controller, who will be responsible for performing daily, weekly, and monthly financial functions for all entities of Cobra Enterprises Ltd. This position will be responsible for closing and reporting on the financial stability of the company to the Controller and shareholders. The successful candidate will also be required prepare tax filings and related reports, and support the planning and budgeting process of the department.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Reporting and Analysis: Preparation and analysis of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Reports Month End Closing: Complete month end close and adjustments for all Operating companies Project Accounting: Support the Project Analyst and PMO team for budgeting and cost allocations on projects Accounts Payable: Supervise the accounts payable team for all OpCos, ensuring weekly pay runs are reviewed and properly executed. Review AP reconciliations monthly and resolve discrepancies, maintain or develop guidelines and/or best practices. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the development of budgets and forecasts. Tax Filings & Reporting: Prepare and file GST/HST returns for all entities, prepare and file RST Statements, utilize project forecast sheets, and ensure that reporting for Provincial Jurisdictions is in line. Projects: Risk mitigation, budgeting, memo writing, policy & workflows, departmental initiatives, annual audit support, cash flow support, and process improvements. Communication & Confidentiality: Professional and courteous communication, build relationships with vendors, staff, and contacts, and ensure the confidentiality and privacy of financial records. Leadership and Supervision: Some kind of blurb about being a team leader etc.

Key Skills & Competencies:



Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, communicate effectively with all levels of staff, and third parties. Strong financial skills and experience with planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure control. Understanding of accounting standards, principles, concepts, and policies. Problem solving and decision-making skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve analytical issues. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced/dynamic work environment. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation. Working in a team environment.

Qualifications & Experience:



Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in either public or private accounting roles. Degree or Diploma in accounting, business administration, or a related field. CPA Designation completed Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, with a proven ability to contribute to the creation of impactful strategies. Experience with using accounting systems/software and Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel). Excellent analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail with the ability to review and verify the accuracy of data. Possess a valid driver's license

Pay: $85,000-105,000
