We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Category Manager to lead the development and execution of category plans that drive growth, optimize product assortment, and enhance customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
Analyze sales data, market research, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure optimal product pricing, and marketing resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, and member services, to execute category initiatives.
Monitor category performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly to maximize member profitability.
Conduct competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and identify new product opportunities.
Lead promotional planning and coordinate with marketing teams to enhance product visibility.
Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain accurate records of category activities.
Requirements
Proven experience in category management, merchandising, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills in order to work successfully in a small team.
Ability to develop strategic plans and execute them effectively across multiple teams.
Knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape within relevant industries.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts successfully.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
