to join our finance team in a dynamic transportation company. The ideal candidate will support the billing and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Billing Duties:
Maintain current records on inventory, work orders, purchase orders, and sales; telephone and/or correspond with customers, wholesalers and/or manufacturers and perform related duties as may be assigned. The clerk must perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid adverse impact on the level of service.
Prepare and issue customer invoices based on transportation services rendered.
Verify trip records, delivery logs, fuel usage, and other cost-related data.
Work with operations to ensure accurate billing for freight, logistics, and other services.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain billing records and files for audit and reporting purposes.
Payroll Duties:
Assist in processing weekly/bi-weekly payroll for drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff.
Verify time sheets, trip sheets, and hours worked (including overtime and per diem).
Input payroll data into accounting or payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, etc.).
Assist with benefits deductions, taxes, and garnishments as required.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company wage and hour laws.
General Duties:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in both physical and digital formats.
Assist with audits, financial reporting, and month-end closing tasks.
Respond to inquiries from employees and customers related to billing and payroll.
Support other finance-related administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
1-2 years of experience in billing, payroll, or general accounting (transportation industry experience a plus).
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with accounting/payroll software.
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Understanding of MTO/DOT regulations and driver pay structures (mileage, hourly, load-based) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Office environment; occasional communication with field staff (drivers, dispatchers).
Standard work hours with occasional overtime during peak periods (e.g., end of month, payroll deadlines).
