The Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury (CCMHBI) has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Psychiatric Nurse/ Registered Nurse (RPN/RN) in the very busy Seniors Mental Health Program. Located in Ponoka, the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury is a State of the Art facility with National and International Recognition. It's not a traditional hospital, but rather a facility that provides specialized mental health and brain injury treatment and care. The campus of specialists and health professionals at the Centre are committed to integrated, multidisciplinary care and treatment ensuring the best outcomes for patients and their families. The Seniors Mental Health program provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation programs for individuals, generally over the age of 65 with a psychiatric illness such as dementia, and mood and/or thought disorders. The goal of the program is to assist each patient to gain their optimal level of functioning in preparation for community integration. Specialty programming offered in areas of: Mood and Thought Disorder, Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Enrichment and Specialized Dementia. The RPN/RN focuses on providing treatment and medication recommendations for seniors with complex presentations. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
