Central Alberta Co-op is hiring a full-time Asset Protection Manager at our Administration Office in Red Deer, Alberta.

Full-time: 40 hours/week. Benefit eligible after 3 months. This position provides benefits, if you are coming from out of province please remember you need to have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to CAC\xe2\x80\x99s Asset Protection and Security functions by developing guidelines, procedures, and policies for identifying and mitigating risks in these areas.
  • Implement strategies and solutions to reduce internal/external crime, loss due to human error, physical security, incident, and emergency response.
  • Responsible for managing the Security Incident Reporting process in order to analyze statistical data on internal and external losses; manage processes to mitigate those risks and report to managers in responding to losses. This includes recommending improved security solutions, policy & procedure revisions, additional training, or a more in-depth investigation.
  • Travel to retail locations to assess current risks in order to maintain control systems relative to the key risks in managing their facilities.
  • Work with Division and Department leadership to improve loss prevention strategies through the creation, development, selection and implementation of innovative security solutions, compliance assessments and best practice approaches.
  • Design, quote and recommend security layouts for both new and existing sites for security technologies. Plan/prepare for emergency situations at all locations.
  • Support the leadership team in responding to emergency situations, provide support throughout the incident as well as recommendations on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provides asset protection and security expertise to all CAC Team Members by developing and conducting training programs that educate and supports learning strategies to effectively mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with the divisional and department managers, human resources, other CRS and FCL, and law enforcement to ensure applicable training programs are relevant, current and accessible.
  • Assist the Director of Risk and/or Human Resources with internal/external fraud &/or police investigations in compliance with privacy and legal regulations.
  • Work with local police detachments, investigators and prosecutors and attend court hearings to present evidence as required. Provide regularly scheduled updates to the leadership team on investigations and incidents.
  • Develops and fosters strong working relationships with others across Central Alberta Co-op division and locations, other CRS and FCL, law enforcement as well as other community minded business partners and programs to exchange/report/present highly complex information.
Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience; a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Security &/or risk prevention certifications or equivalent training would be considered assets.
