The Roller Operator plays a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces. This position involves operating heavy machinery to compact and smooth asphalt or concrete surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and a commitment to safety and efficiency on the job site.

Duties

Operate roller equipment to compact asphalt or concrete during paving operations. Monitor the quality of the surface being paved, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired results. Collaborate with team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to specifications. Conduct routine inspections of the roller equipment to ensure proper functioning and maintenance. Assist in preparing job sites by performing tasks such as digging, loading, and forming concrete as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and guidelines.

Skills

Proficient in heavy equipment operation, specifically roller machinery. Knowledge of paving techniques and concrete finishing processes. Experience with commercial driving is advantageous for transporting equipment to job sites. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality work output. Capability to perform physical tasks such as digging and loader operation as required.
This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of paved surfaces and requires a dedicated individual who is willing to contribute positively to the team.

Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
