Job Description
Basin Contracting Limited, based in Elmsdale, is an established company servicing the road building and heavy construction industry. We have 40 years experience providing quality products and services to government and private customers throughout Nova Scotia.
Position: Asphalt Field Technician
Full Time - Seasonal
Monitor asphalt compaction with electromagnetic gauge Obtain loose asphalt samples using a quartermaster attached to a trailer Coring of asphalt pavement Monitor pavement thickness and temperature Liaison with our team members and department inspectors During lower production days, assist paving crew with manual labour
Qualifications
Capable of lifting 50 lbs Possess a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation to and from our quarry in Elmsdale, NS Capable of driving and backing up a pickup truck with a trailer Willing to work days, evenings and occasionally weekends Willing to work long hours with a start time of 6:00 am Basic math skills required Good interpersonal and communication skills Training will be provided but experience would be an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
