Purcell Helicopters (Purcell) operates an AS 350FX2, AS350B3e (H125), and Bell 212 HP BLR and is looking for an experienced pilot that wants to live in Nelson, BC. Purcell will provide an excellent work/life balance, top industry wages, and year-round employment. Purcell is busy year-round with winter work focused on provincial contracts for avalanche control, B.C. Parks and a few local lodge transfers. Summer work is primarily focused on forest fire suppression and there is sporadic utility work throughout the year. Purcell is in growth mode and offers employees diversified and challenging work. Purcell Helicopters Ltd. is seeking a pilot for our AS350 B3e, and AS350 FX2. We are seeking motivated, experienced individuals that are looking for diversified work and opportunities and will take pride in representing Purcell Helicopters Ltd. Purcell Helicopters has taken over the operations from Kootenay Valley Helicopters (KVH) in Nelson, BC. Purcell has a strong management team with decades of experience in the industry.

Purcell is looking for a pilot that wants to work and live near Nelson, BC and is willing to work on a 2 and 2 schedule in the summer. There would be a maximum of 5, 2-week shifts outside of Nelson, BC each year (10 weeks remote per year).

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Participation in our Safety Management System Program. Minimum 2000 hours PIC on all helicopter types. 500 hours PIC on type 3, intermediate lift helicopters. 200 hours PIC on AS350B3e (H125) or AS350FX2 or similar considered an asset 250 hours of vertical reference, precision long line experience (150ft or longer); 50 hours of bucketing experience; 1000 hours of PIC within designated mountainous areas 1 and 2 as defined by Transport Canada; and Demonstrated large fire flying experience. Wildlife experience is an asset (surveys, capture, and telemetry). Heli Skiing experience is an asset BC approved Mountain Course is an asset. Mountain and vertical reference is required. ACP considered an asset. Tree planting experience considered an asset. Training experience considered an asset. Class D certification considered an asset. BC Hydro certification considered an asset. Powerline experience considered an asset.

Additional Assets

Post-Secondary Education Strong work ethic and able to work efficiently as part of a team, flexibility with changing requirements regarding work hours/days, location and travel. Maintain a high standard of conduct; be respectful of clients, visitors, coworkers and managers. Be familiar with all available flight information, including weather, and applicable NOTAMs where available, and determine fuel and oil requirements. Ensure all required aircraft maintenance work has been completed. Calculate aircraft weight and balance. Complete VFR Flight Itinerary and Flight Risk Assessment, as applicable. Complete the aircraft preflight inspection before each departure. Supervise and carry out the loading and securing of passengers, freight or external loads. Complete all post flight duties, including filing arrival reports and confirmation to the company of whereabouts of the helicopter when operating away from the base, recording flight times and any defects. Maintain documents and equipment while on the base Liaise with clients to ensure their needs are satisfied. May perform other duties, assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements

Current Canadian CPL (H) or ATPL (H) and Medical. Valid Driver's License Personal cell phone
