Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. Our dedicated staff deliver services, operate facilities and run the programs that enhance the well-being of our community.
The District of West Vancouver Community Services Department is accepting applications for Arts Instructors to teach a variety of general arts classes. These include, but are not limited to: weaving, fabric arts, clay, painting, drawing, mixed media and more. The lessons will be based out of the Seniors' Activity Centre and will involve working with a client group aged 55+.
The successful candidates will have professional training in the visual arts, experience as instructors within their respective field, knowledge of community programming philosophies and instruction techniques, and experience working with individuals aged 55+. Desirable qualifications include a degree or diploma in Visual Art, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The successful candidates will be available evening and weekends.
All applicants must provide a cover letter, resume, and a sample lesson plan for each class or program to be taught.
The successful candidate is required to supply a police information check with vulnerable sector and a copy of their credentials.

Rate of Pay:



$26 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits
This position offers a competitive wage based on experience and qualifications
