Faculty of Arts

invites applications for

Sessional Instructors

to teach the following course in Spring 2025 (May 5, 2025 - June 16, 2025)

Courses of Instruction:



UNIV 304 (LEC 01) - Experiential Learning in the Workplace: W 17:00 - 19:00 (Web-based)

Position Requirements:



Minimum Masters degree Experience teaching undergraduate courses at a university level Experience with skills articulation and how to help students translate skills learned in academic settings to professional settings and vice versa Familiarity with scholarly literature about experiential and work-integrated learning Experience with designing, delivering, and evaluating work integrated learning assessments Experience working with employers and community partners Experience developing courses designed for online or blended learning Experience teaching in a co-op or other university-level work-integrated learning program Experience with FUSION modules preferred

Please note that the courses are tentative, pending sufficient enrollments.


For salary information, please refer to TUCFA's Collective Agreement, Schedule B. As per the Collective Agreement, the Faculty of Arts adheres to the right of first refusal terms (Section 23.12.1 and 23.12.2) for Sessional Appointments.

Application Process:



All applicants must provide a letter specifying the course(s) and session(s) of interest (in order of preference), outlining their qualifications to teach each course. Applicants who have taught in the Department within the past two years need not provide anything further, although more information may be requested later in the selection process.

New applicants must submit:



A current CV containing relevant teaching experience (e.g., courses taught, textbooks used, where and when taught). Proof of completion of Masters degree; Course names and descriptions of courses you have taught; Statement of teaching philosophy; and
Teaching evaluations from a course you have taught or for which you have been a Teaching Assistant (if available)

Doctoral students must have successfully completed their candidacy exams prior to the beginning of the term in question for their applications to be given consideration. They should also have discussed their application with their supervisor and include a letter of support from their supervisors with their application. Those who have completed the Instructional Skills Workshop at the Teaching and Learning Centre will also be given special consideration.
