Compensation
This role is a
vocational training placement
within the Law Society of Ontario's Articling Program. Landmark Law has been granted an
exemption from the Law Society's mandatory minimum compensation requirement
after review and approval of its training program.
To recognize the investment students make in the licensing process, the firm may provide
partial reimbursement of Law Society licensing fees at the end of the articling term
, based on successful completion and performance.

Located in Markham, Landmark Law is a small firm committed to delivering caring and reasonably priced legal services for significant life events, including wills and estates, real estate, civil litigation, and business law.
Our clientele consists primarily of individuals and small business owners in the community. We also host complimentary legal information seminars and are passionate about mentoring students.
Our practice is paper-light, using platforms such as RingCentral, OneDrive, Slack, Lawyerdonedeal, Estateably, and uLawPractice.
What Role Will You Be Playing?
As an Articling Student, you will gain hands-on exposure across multiple practice areas and office operations, including:
incorporations, commercial leases, purchase/sale of businesses, closing documentation.
Firm Operations:
client intake, file management, compliance, seminar assistance, business development support.
You will collaborate with our team and clients, gaining insights into law society procedures, practice management, and legal transactions.
Candidates Must
Hold an LL.B. or J.D. degree (Canadian or foreign-trained).
Be enrolled in the LSO licensing process (or eligible for registration).
Be comfortable with the position being structured as a
vocational training placement under the LSO compensation exemption
.
Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Drafting and preparing documents for real estate, wills, estates, and corporate transactions.
Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda.
Supporting litigation and dispute resolution through fact-gathering and correspondence.
Managing client intake, file opening/closing, and compliance reporting.
Attending client meetings and assisting with seminars and business development.
