The Village at University Gates , located in Waterloo , Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Art Therapist to join their team.

Hours: 65 hours monthly

To be successful as our new Art Therapist, you will:

Be enrolled in or completed a Degree in Art Therapy or equivalent Completed the required hours of internship Be eligible for membership with the Canadian Art Therapy Association Maintain personal professional Liability Insurance Support our residents to be creative and express themselves in a safe and welcoming environment Collaborate with the Recreation team to support our residents to learn, grow, find life purpose and meaning. Encourage physical, emotional, spiritual, social and cognitive growth for residents Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members

It would be an asset if our new Art Therapist has:

Previous experience working with seniors Knowledge of therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident's well-being and holistic health An understanding of the relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
