The Art Director reports to the Studio Art Director and will be the leader in visual direction for a new original IP within CA. This role requires a proactive verbal and visual communicator who can work with other Project Directors and Discipline Leads to define and execute on a compelling visual language that elevates the game experience. Responsibilities

Apply extensive knowledge of fundamental art principles to define, implement and champion a cohesive and compelling art style that enhances the overall game experience

Understand the needs of our development partners and publishers, creating strategies for art direction across a wide range of titles, franchises, and game types and styles.

Leverage the latest art processes, pipelines and technical considerations across all art disciplines.

Build rich, believable, inclusive worlds, characters, and experiences. Represent cultures, religions, races, and genders respectfully for a worldwide audience.

Collaborate with project leads to prioritize information and communication.

Collaborate with production staff to create and maintain project schedules and deliverables

Requirements

10+ years experience in the entertainment industry with at least 4 years experience in AAA brand and IP development as an Art Director or Associate Art Director

Deep understanding of all phases of game development from concept phase to post game launch

Experience working with leaders across a project to achieve consensus and maintain a consistent art style across a large range of art assets

Strong understanding of realistic art styles but able to work within other styles as needed.

Strong understanding of building new and working within established IP and Brands

Partner closely with art leads to promote collaboration and ownership within their disciplines

Experience building successful visual guidelines for outsource initiatives

Collaborate cross discipline to identify and resolve project roadblocks

Strong foundational knowledge in traditional art

Demonstrated ability to communicate and maintain high-level art vision to all stakeholders.

Experience managing and mentoring artists at all levels

A desire to work in and support a diverse and inclusive environment
