The Sessional Instructor will oversee 39 instructional hours for Arts and Science courses. The Instructor should have a background in one or more of the following areas: Kainai Studies, psychology, sociology, political science, and education. The Instructure will apply teaching skills to instructional setting, specifically in respect to principles and practices of a post-secondary education and culturally relevant process and content. This individual must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written. The Instructor must be very organized, have a strong work ethic, proficient computer skills with the ability to try new systems, and a willingness to learn. The instructor will work with Elders and colleagues to ensure that course instruction is provided within the context of Indigenous Knowledge and experience.
Evaluate and grade students utilizing include observable and measurable criteria.
Maintain class lists, attendance, grades, lesson plans, syllabus, course outlines, projects, assignments and exams.
Observe department deadlines and timeframes
Maintain professional relationships with students, instructors, and members of the Red Crow Community College.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Master's Degree required.
A minimum of three years of instructional experience in a post-secondary institution is required.
Knowledge of Kainaisynni and Niitsitapi Values principles and practices.
A working knowledge of Blackfoot language and understanding is an asset.
