Come Build Home with Us! We are Hiring an Area Manager (Supervisor) for our Afternoon Shift! (Monday-Thursday Work Week) Area Manager is a member of the Operations Management team reporting to the Operations Manager. The position is responsible for leading production employees and ensuring safety, quality and production targets are met in a Lean environment. What You Will Do!

• Supervise a staff of approximately 30 hourly employees
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and advising personnel on safe work practices to meet Safety and 5S targets
• Meet quality targets through the participation and leading improvements in all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost through the use of daily management, various Quality and Lean tools, and Process Problem Solving.
• Ensure execution of the production plan to meet customer demand.
• Participate in Lean Glass house and COQ to meet TCP targets
• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
• Communicate monthly talks to the hourly employees regarding policies, procedures and other changes.
• Coordinate time / attendance, vacation bookings and leave of absences for the dept hourly employees
• Responsible for employee training and tracking of new hires and cross-training
• Enter employee hours for payroll
• Verify production entries through audits printed daily
• Troubleshoot any issues that are brought up in the daily running of the department
• Conduct new employee evaluations during the probationary period

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate workforce in a unionized environment.
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Computer literacy is required
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proven leadership ability
• Technical aptitude a definite asset
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
