The Opportunity

Reporting directly to a Senior District Manager in Eastern Canada, the Area Manager is responsible for building and retaining a high-performing and diverse team, along with a tailored succession plan for leadership within the region. Based full time in either Nova Scotia or New Brunswick the Area Manager will be accountable for 11 business units throughout the Maritime provinces. The successful candidate will lead by example and nurture a strong team dynamic in order to foster continuous development brand loyalty.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years multi-unit management OR similar high-volume big box retail experience as a Store Manager
  • Must exhibit strong leadership qualities
  • Active listening skills combined with strong mentorship and coaching capabilities are required
  • Proven ability to align and inspire individuals while fostering a culture of teamwork
  • Great communication skills with a propensity to develop and lead change
  • Excellent organizational & customer service skills
  • A propensity to develop and lead change
  • Accountability to both team and financial goals
  • Proven ability to develop and lead business initiatives
  • Strong understanding of sales development strategies

Responsibilities of the Position

HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Provide timely communications regularly to Director of Stores/Human Resources on all aspects of the business and scope or responsibilities
OPERATIONS
  • Regularly visit all locations to ensure all team needs are met
  • Support Store Managers in developing their team and succession strategies
  • Streamline store operations to increase efficiency and output
  • Control expenses to drive overall profitability within region
  • Identify and develop virtual communication and training for remote stores across the region
  • Develop strategic operational plans, managing execution, and measuring results
  • Follow up consistently to ensure accountability to plans
  • Drive brand loyalty through connecting with the customer experience
  • Analyze the business and create/communicate clear action plans that optimize results
  • Monitor and measure financial, operational, human resources and customer service results
  • Hold teams accountable for achieving goals set out together
  • Achieve results without compromising quality or integrity of work
  • Possess and operate region with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Adapt and respond to digital technologies and requirements
  • Identify unique product opportunities to enhance regional sales by listening to customers
  • Drive execution of in store and online marketing strategies
