Job Description
About the Role:
The ADET provides technical support for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems. This includes office-based design work as well as field work such as site visits, surveys, and customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and layout of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems Prepare engineering drawings, estimates, work orders, and construction packages Conduct field surveys for installations, upgrades, or maintenance Coordinate with customers, contractors, and internal departments Ensure compliance with standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations Support load analysis, GIS/mapping updates, and system planning initiatives Troubleshoot during outages or emergencies and assist with renewable integration
Qualifications:
Diploma/Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (Bachelor's is an asset) 2-4 years of relevant experience in electrical utility distribution or a similar role Experience with AutoCAD, SPIDAcalc, GIS systems is an asset Knowledge of distribution system components and electrical codes Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license; fieldwork may be required
