Architectural Technologist / Architect Reports to- VP Design Location: Etobicoke About BECC Modular BECC Modular is a fast-growing volumetric modular Design-Build Group, focused on modular design and construction projects, from private homes and mid-size institutional jobs to large scale affordable multi-residential housing and hotel developments across Ontario. Your Role We are looking for a technically skilled, and creative Architectural Technologist / Architect to join our Design & Engineering Dept. You will be working closely with architects, engineers, plant and project managers to prepare detailed drawings. You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of working and shop drawings, ensuring accurate coordination with the architectural, structural and MEP packages issued by multi-disciplinary teams of external and internal consultants. Other responsibilities include participating in preparation of creative design proposals (3D renderings, colored plans, elevations, etc.) as well as checking the accuracy of drawings and specifications ensuring code compliance and structural integrity. To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate exceptional technical skills using computer-aided drawing and project management tools, such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, etc. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, deep understanding of different building systems, knowledge of Building Code and superb collaboration skills. Your Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, analyze consultant\xe2\x80\x99s / client\xe2\x80\x99s drawings required to complete design scope of work.
  • Produce detailed Architectural working / shop drawings using Revit Modeling and 2D AutoCAD.
  • Review, coordinate and modify drawings, details, specs as per OBC and consultants\xe2\x80\x99 comments.
  • Issue, monitor and reply RFI; create technical reports, track work performance, as required.
  • Ensure timely release of deliverables such as working drawings, schedules, details as per timelines.
  • Review final drawings to safeguard compliance with OBC and other professional standards.
  • Prepare colored plans, elevations, 3D renderings using Sketchup, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Lumion.
  • Design and draft residential and hospitality unit layouts.
  • Review reports from consultants, ensure compliance of design with the report requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to RFP or RFI project sites with the Sales or Construction Team, when required.
  • Develop full understanding of BECC design principles to provide feedback to the Plant Team
  • Conduct research, attend workshops to remain up to date with the latest AEC industry trends.
Your Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of building science and experience in coordinating structural and MEP systems with architectural layout.
  • An associate\'s degree of applied science in Architecture.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in the AEC industry.
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in architecture (or higher) will be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software: Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Proficiency in using MS Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Proficiency in using 3D Rendering, Animation (V-Ray, Lumion, 3ds Max, Sketchup) and Graphic Design (Photoshop, Illustrator) software will be beneficial.
  • Exceptional drafting skills and overall excellent technical skills, particularly with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Great maths and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to legally work in Canada, work permit, visa or PR already obtained.
