Scott Shields Architects Inc. (SSA)I is looking to employ a creative Architectural Designer with the following minimum requirements: a Bachelor\'s degree in architecture, or a related field, as well as: \xc2\xb7 At least 3 years of experience preparing design concepts, plans and construction documents in an architectural office ; \xc2\xb7 At least 1 year of Canadian experience reading, interpreting, and applying building codes to designs; \xc2\xb7 Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD software; \xc2\xb7 Working proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite and 3D Modeling software; \xc2\xb7 Understanding of building technology and assembly (i.e. wood, steel, steel stud, and concrete construction); and \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Interior design experience is considered an asset. Highrise Design experience is necessary Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of creative thinking in the design process and be able to effectively communicate design ideas both verbally and graphically. The role of Architectural Designer will be required to work under the supervision of licensed architects, and take on the following responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Conduct research and preparing detailed drawings, architectural concepts and structural models under the supervision of an architect according to design specifications using AutoCAD and Revit software; \xc2\xb7 Be proficient in the creation 3D conceptual images using Sketchup or Rhino software \xc2\xb7 Analyze building codes, by-laws, and permit requirements, and identify space and site potential design opportunities/limitations on building architectural designs; \xc2\xb7 Drawing and analyzing rough and detailed scale plans for use by consultants, contractors, and tradespersons; \xc2\xb7 Conceptualizing and designing buildings and developing 2D and 3D models incorporating all phases of a project, from pre-design to execution; \xc2\xb7 Preparing cost estimates, contracts, bidding documents, technical reports and elements of feasibility studies for specific projects; \xc2\xb7 Meet with internal (and external) licensed architects at construction sites, in order to ensure compliance with design specifications.
