SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL BE WORKING AT OUR BRIGHTON HQ Our Architectural Design Coordinator (Abbrev. ADC) provides their expertise, skill, and leadership skills in SLH\xe2\x80\x99s two primary lines of business: Private Residential construction, and Multi-Family/Commercial construction. On the Private Residential side, the ADC takes the lead in designing the homes of our clients by determining the type, style and purpose of their construction being considered, conceptualizes, and designs their homes and develops plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs, and construction schedules in collaboration with the Project Coordinator. On the Multi-Family/Commercial side, the ADC coordinates the activities of our partnered engineers, and architects to secure project completion according to its delivery date, and reviews their schematics, drawings, and structural details. This is in addition to coordinating the communication and providing direction to our Design team. To accomplish the duties required in both lines of business, the ADC must possess an intimate knowledge of part 9 and 3 of the Ontario Building Code, be able to work autonomously, and exercise exceptional problem solving, organization, and communication skills. Essential Duties and Accountabilities
  • Develop final construction plans that include aesthetic representations of the structure or details for its construction.
  • Prepare scale drawings or architectural designs, using Revit.
  • Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time.
  • Consult with clients or developers to determine functional or spatial requirements of structures.
  • Meet with clients or developers to review or discuss architectural drawings.
  • Monitor the work of specialists, such as structural engineers, civil engineers, interior designers, and other external partners to ensure optimal form or function of designs or final structures.
  • Plan layouts of structural architectural projects.
  • Manage internal workload between themselves and junior Design team members.
  • Prepare contract documents for building contractors in collaboration with the Project Coordinator
  • Plan or design structures such as residences, office buildings, theatres, factories, or other structural properties in accordance with environmental, safety, or other regulations.
  • Direct activities of technicians engaged in preparing drawings or specification documents.
  • Create three-dimensional or interactive representations of designs, using Revit.
  • Design structures that incorporate environmentally friendly building practices or concepts, such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards.
  • Design or plan construction of green building projects to minimize adverse environmental impact or conserve energy.
  • Design environmentally sound structural upgrades to existing buildings, such as prefabricated panel cladding, natural lighting systems, green roofs, or other natural construction concepts.
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year Benefits:
