We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team. This role involves hands-on work in tree maintenance, ground clean-up, and the use of skid steers, woodchippers etc.. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating machinery and tools, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, contributing to the beautification and functionality of various trees around the city while developing mechanical and horticultural skills.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy machinery and drive light duty trucks as needed
Clear and chip fallen branches from climber
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs
Support general site cleanup and safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment
Qualifications
Experience with and willingness to use: Chainsaws, mini skid steer, woodchipper, stump grinder, mini excavator
Knowledge of tree species and care techniques considered asset
Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and maintenance
Strong understanding of work site safety standards in relation to tree work
Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, digging, and operating machinery for extended periods
Prior experience in construction or outdoor maintenance is advantageous
Valid G level driver's license is required

Postion is full time in the summer 30-40 hrs per week with opportunities for over-time, weekends may be required. On call for emergency storm damage also required.
Experience will be considered for starting wage.
This postion also requires a 3 day paid working interview.
