Company DescriptionWork-Fit Total Therapy Centre is a full service rehabilitation clinic located in the Georgetown, Milton and Oakville Hospitals, providing exceptional service for over 30 years. A hospital program, whereby all proceeds support hospital programs and services.We will guide you through improvement in mobility, stability and strength. Work-Fit Total Therapy Centre has been providing specialized physiotherapy services to referring surgeons, physicians, hospitals as well as local sporting clubs.This is a Part-Time Contract position through Work-Fit Physiotherapy. The aquatic fitness instructor will not be an Employee of Halton Healthcare.Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Clinics Manager, or designate, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing Aquafit classes suited to meet the needs of the program participants that is fun, safe and technically sound to meet the objectives and goals of the program. This is a unique opportunity to work at state of art the hospital while providing a much needed service to the Oakville Community.Primary Responsibilities:Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the designated class in a professional manner and create a safe and enjoyable climate.
  • Plan and implement an aquatic exercise class to meet the needs of all participants
  • Provide group exercise instruction and supervision while effectively ensuring the safety of all participants. (permission to work at own pace, monitor heart rate throughout the class).
  • Be ready to start the class at the advertised start time and finish within the allotted time.
  • Maintain excellent public relations when dealing with all customers and share information about the program (as provided) to class participants.
  • Provide information only in your area of expertise.
  • Effectively and in a timely manner communicate any issues/ information that could impact the quality and safe delivery of the program to the manager on duty or your direct supervisor.
  • Attend and participate in training and staff meetings as required.
  • Perform emergency procedures as required.
  • Read, understand and abide by all Halton Healthcarexe2x80x99s standards, Corporate Policies and Procedures, including the Human Resources Policies and respecting Employee Conduct, Health and Safety and Freedom of Information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
QualificationsThe successful candidate will have:
  • a current CALA (Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance), AEA (Aquatic exercise Association), Water Art, or certification program that meets the NFLA standards or equivalent
  • Current approved Emergency First Aid/CPR B.
  • A National Lifeguard Service (NLS) and Lifesaving Society Swim and Instructor certification is an asset.
  • Experience working with seniors or older adult population an asset.
  • Experience leading exercise programs or group classes.
  • Good communication skills, warm friendly personality, superior customer service skills.
