Position Responsibilities




The Aquatic Assistant is responsible for helping the lifeguards ensure the safety and well-being of patrons through education and training. The Aquatic Assistant must be able to perform first aid as required, ensuring effective, efficient, and safe operations of the facility while procedures and safety of the staff and patrons in the aquatic centre are maintained. You enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


You will provide support to staff, user groups, and the community by assisting in ensuring a safe and fun aquatic area. You'll be responsible for assisting in ensuring rules and procedures are followed while utilizing aquatic amenities including slides, Flowrider, dive tower, etc..

Qualifications



Minimum 16 years of age Current Standard First Aid Ability to work shift work, including evenings and weekends Basic computer knowledge Ability to make decisions and select a course of action Ability to work well with others Ability to apply innovative thinking to problem-solving Ability to respond to emergencies Ability to adapt and work within changing environments Ability to apply innovative thinking to problem-solving Effective communication and documentation, customer service experience Must be reliable and punctual Team Oriented Clean Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector

Hours




The standard workweek consists of an average of 20 - 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.

Compensation




Starting Salary $22.76 per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
